Since it appearance in the aftermath of the industrial revolution, capitalism has served only the rich bourgeois class; the latter having the government in their pocket, to help them in maintaining the workers servile to their bosses. This resulted in huge social inequalities, with the top minority owning most of the wealth. When the workers decided to organize to create a fairer and more just society, their project was either nipped in the bud, or betrayed by madmen like Stalin who, just like every other capitalist, cared only about themselves. Today, capitalists lie brazenly about the past failures of “communism”, and try to prove to everyone that capitalism is the only system that could possibly work. In fact, they can't justify this with facts, because they crushed quickly and violently the only states that were truly communist, while maintaining those who claimed to be but weren't. Additionally, they don't want people to realize the truth behind socialism.
